Great post Barry. Yes it’s interesting to see the Crown on the Census and the beautiful penmanship too. I guess the word ‘penmanship’ isn’t used much these days and might even be considered a sexist word, maybe ‘nice font’ is the more modern version! Anyhow I’m digressing. Thanks Barry, this is a great nudge into exploring my own ancestors. Great journey and - ‘Up Tipp!’

As well as the stint in Clonmel, the Ryans who ended up in Galbally, Co. Limerick got there I believe via Emly, Co. Tipperary so Up Tipp! indeed.
